EasyPeasyGPX — Privacy Policy
Effective date: August 17, 2026
Who we are
This policy covers the EasyPeasyGPX Android app (Google Play package
com.eaglin.easypeasygpx), developed and published by Dean Eaglin
("we", "us"), the developer named on the app's Google Play listing.

Summary
EasyPeasyGPX is a simple GPS recorder: you press Start, it records your track and any waypoints you drop, and you export the result as a GPX file. Your location never leaves your phone unless you choose to share the GPX file. No accounts, no ads, no analytics.
Location
The app accesses your device's precise location for one purpose: to record the GPS track and waypoints you choose to capture. Location is read only while you are actively recording (after you press Start Tracking, or when you create a waypoint). Recording continues with the screen off or the app in the background through an Android foreground service, which always shows a persistent notification. The app does not request background-location permission and does not track you when you are not recording.
What we collect and share
- The developer collects nothing. The app has no server; no location or other data is transmitted to us or to any third party.
- Recorded tracks and waypoints stay on your device, in memory for the session, until you export them or clear them.
- Data leaves the device only when you explicitly tap Export / Share, and only to the app you pick in the system share sheet (email, cloud storage, etc.). What happens after that is governed by that app's privacy policy.
Permissions
- Location (fine / coarse) — record your track and waypoints.
- Foreground service (location) and notifications — keep recording while backgrounded and show the recording notification.
Retention and deletion
Because nothing is stored off your device, there is nothing for us to retain or delete. Clearing the recording in the app or uninstalling the app removes all data it holds.
Children
The app is not directed at children under 13 and collects no personal information from anyone.
Changes to this policy
Updates will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
